Shell used a specially designed transparent gearbox to demonstrate that, within the same timeframe, for both cold starts and fully warmed up conditions. Shell Spirax S6 synthetic oil lubricates all the critical parts of the gearbox while the mineral based oil lubricates the gearbox much less evenly.
